One year's worth of gay powerfic

Cover for Debt Price

Here's a full list of the gay and male friendship stories I've posted/reposted in the past year that deal with BDSM/leather, have dark settings (imprisonment, slavery, war, or prostitution), or feature servants, liegemen, apprentices, or mentors. As the boilerplate warning for my stories puts it, "All of the stories feature love or respect, though sometimes it takes a while to get there."

Need to know which stories feature platonic feelings, gay attraction, mature content, etc.? Read these explanations of the labels used below: What is the Main Bookshelf? | What is the High Bookshelf?

Leather, Licking, and Lawnmowers. Leather, Licking, and Lawnmowers takes leathersex out of its usual bars and back alleys, setting it in unexpected locations: A 5&10. A potluck. A hamburger joint. A waltz party. Even when the leatherman who narrates these stories returns to the Eagle bar, things don't go quite the way he expected. . . .

Warnings. Adults only (male/male erotic attraction). Leather fiction. Includes a booktrailer video.

Thinking about it, I've decided that bringing Jell-O to a gathering of leathermen wasn't my big mistake. My big mistake was bringing it on the night that Master Trent was attending.

First Lesson. When a security guard walks into the wrong bar in town, he learns about the dark side of erotic desire, and also about the hope that lies beyond it.

Warnings. High Bookshelf. Leather fiction.

He couldn't remember later why he began talking about bondage.

What Slaves Do When They Aren't Cleaning Toilets: A Tale of Web Accessibility in the Cybersex Era. The first e-book in the world that presents Web accessibility information for the disabled in the form of a leather porn story.

Boilerplate warning. High Bookshelf. Leather fiction (satire). No love or respect in this story, I'm afraid. That doesn't fit with the genre I'm satirizing.

What I want from you is quite simple. I want you to design a Website that's compatible with Section 508— Stop sobbing, damn it!

SLAVERY (the nonconsensual kind)

The True Master. In a society where the rank of master or slave defines every aspect of a person's being, what do you do when you're a master and you envy your slaves?

Boilerplate warning. High Bookshelf. Fantasy.

"True slavery or mastership comes as much through training as through birth, and when the training has only just begun, it is natural that a young person would be confused as to his or her proper role in life. I think that patience should be shown toward young people who demonstrate perverse tendencies."

The Slavefic Plot Creator. When fan fiction writers have had way too much caffeine.

Boilerplate warning. High Bookshelf. Contemporary fiction (satire).

You will note that several reply buttons in this questionnaire have been disabled. The buttons are present because a volunteer (since dismissed) made the error of feeding historical data on real-life slavery into the computer.

Debt Price. No one would pay his debt price to gain him release from prison. So he sought to pay it himself by offering the only thing he could, his body. But one man would require more.

Boilerplate warning. High Bookshelf. Historical fantasy.

He kept his gaze cast below the belt. In the chill cell, sweat was beginning to form now on his neck, running down his back and between his bound wrists. "Lord," he said softly, "I would be glad to pay to you my debt in any way I can."

Blood Vow. He has taken a blood vow to the Jackal God to bring freedom to his land by killing Koretia's greatest enemy. But what will he do when the enemy becomes his friend?

Thrust into exile and pain, young Andrew has no choice but to accept the friendship of the very person he had vowed to kill. When he returns with his friend to his homeland fifteen years later, though, he finds himself in a land of conflicting loyalties . . . where a vengeful god awaits him.

Warnings. Main Bookshelf. Fantasy. Includes a booktrailer video.

I had searched half the mountainside before I found him where I did not expect him, sitting in the window of the gods' house. I had come to tell him, in the cheerful manner boys have, that our world was about to be destroyed.

The Breaking. The prisoner knew that the Eternal Dungeon was a place where suspected criminals were broken by torture, and he was prepared to hold out against any methods used against him – except the method he could not anticipate.

Warnings. Main Bookshelf story within a High Bookshelf series. Historical fantasy.

"Do you have any questions?" the Seeker asked. "About the routine of the dungeon? The times you will be fed? The questions you will be asked? The instruments of torture I use?"

Life Prison. In the unmerciful world of Mercy Prison, there is no rule but unending pain. For Merrick, the arrival of his new guard provides hope that he may break beyond the boundaries of his life prison. But appearances can be deceptive, and Merrick does not yet recognize the danger this guard poses to his future.

Warnings. High Bookshelf. Historical fantasy.

On the tenth anniversary of my arrival at Mercy Prison, I lay beneath my guard, trying to make my mind dwell on thoughts other than what he was doing to me.

Coded Messages. One of them rapes prisoners. The other wants to help prisoners. So why are they talking to each other?

Warnings. High Bookshelf. Historical fantasy.

"Sweet blood, Tom, sometimes I wonder at your innocence. Why do you think that your prisoners were sent to Compassion? It wasn't for lacing daisy chains."

Bard of Pain. In the battle-weary lands of the Great Peninsula, only one fate is worse than being taken prisoner by the Lieutenant: being taken prisoner if you are the Lieutenant.

As the world's most skilled torturer struggles with his change of fortune, he finds that his fate is intertwined with the destinies of an idealistic army commander, an affectionate prisoner, and a protégé who reveres the Lieutenant's art . . . but is on the wrong side of the conflict.

Warnings. Main Bookshelf (but be cautioned that the violence is fairly pervasive in this one, because of the subject matter). Fantasy. Includes a booktrailer video.

The beginning of the end for him (or so it seemed at the time) came in the moment that he stepped into the shadow of Capital Mountain and was assaulted by a stranger.

Includes references to SM.

The New Boy. Running a business seemed a simple enough matter: you learned what the patron wanted, and you forced an employee to satisfy his needs. Then along came the new boy.

Now the centuries-old system of male prostitution in the Kingdom of Vovim is in danger of being overturned in favor of a new way of doing business. But will the young man who is carrying out this revolution be able to keep himself from repeating history?

Warnings. High Bookshelf. Historical fantasy.

He could not recognize most of the items before him, which he instinctively knew was a bad sign.

Crossing the Cliff. After ten years as apprentice to a Peacesteward, the one thing Erastus is sure of is that he's ill-prepared to become a master. Unfortunately, he's about to discover just how ill-prepared he is.

When he and his master stray into forbidden territory, Erastus is thrust alone into a community that is on the brink of war. His only hope for bringing peace is to ally himself with a young boy . . . a boy who has stolen what Erastus values most.

Warnings. Main Bookshelf. Fantasy. Includes a booktrailer video.

"I don't believe I have ever spoken to you of my first master."

Mystery. Three days ago he faced death by fire. Now he faces a bigger challenge.

Warnings. Main Bookshelf (but will probably be of interest to some High Bookshelf readers). Fantasy.

Prosper felt the words like a blow. He sensed at once the change in mood in the surrounding men and youths: the shifting of spear from left hand to right, the movement of hand to hilt, the tensing of muscles in preparation.
